Charged By Negativity

Dour British popster Morrissey (full name Steven Patrick Morrissey, but, like fellow luminaries Baloo, Boo-Boo, and Butthead, just Too Kool to have more than one name), has released a statement of appreciation in re recently passed former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher, a woman whose hair was a helmet, and who lived some 87 years with a stick rammed up her gluteus maximus.

Among the Morrissey remarks:

Thatcher is remembered as The Iron Lady only because she scarypossessed completely negative traits such as persistent stubbornness and a determined refusal to listen to others.

Every move she made was charged by negativity; she destroyed the British manufacturing industry, she hated the miners, she hated the arts, she hated the Irish Freedom Fighters and allowed them to die, she hated the English poor and did nothing at all to help them, she hated Greenpeace and environmental protectionists, she was the only European political leader who opposed a ban on the Ivory Trade, she had no wit and no warmth and even her own Cabinet booted her out.

As a matter of recorded fact, Thatcher was a terror without an atom of humanity.

Ah, yes, I never understood people admiring SuperBitch. How did people not notice what she was up to — what she did — and anyone with worship in their eyes for Regan had to be less than human. Last night on Chris Hayes someone let old Maggie have twice the shots as Morrissey. It grew quiet around the table, but I still hoped others might pick up on that reality today. Nothing. Sometimes it’s proper to speak ill of the dead– it’s necessary to do so– it’s required to do so. Why do I so often feel out of sync with this world– all that admiration for Bush, Nixon, all the up-and-coming politicos in Congress and the cranks on Fox — and sometimes even people on Charlie Rose –ad nauseum. Ah, I’m going to go throw up now.

Until the recent news reports, I had forgotten the woman’s true first name, as she was known round these parts exclusively as “Maggot Thatcher,” or, more familiarly, “Maggot.”

The wingers long ago deified Maggot and Ronald “Where’s The Rest Of Me?” Reagan as the First Couple of wingnutness. In winger world, they are today happily frolicking in Hebbin.
